Beverley Lay, born of Greek parents in Sydney Australia has been involved in the art industry for over 30 years. “I am a painter, and while I have been painting for almost all of my life, I have also studied in the fields of art and fashion. I decided early in my life that I wanted to enter into the industry of creative arts and fashion, and therefore eagerly pursued a career as an artist.” To this end, Beverley undertook both college and private tuition in arts, fashion, design, illustration and painting, amongst others. She received a number of diplomas in this field, one of which is a diploma from the elite East Sydney Institute of Technology in 1989. This school is well known as one of the most selective art schools in Australia. “My first showing of my own artworks was held in Paddington, Sydney, Australia in 1996.” Since then, Beverley has continued her practice and honing her artistic talents in Australia, Canada, and she is looking to broaden her exposure into the Asian market while living in Macau. Beverley has been studying print making at the Macau Art Museum, under the expert tutelage of Macau artist James Wong.
