Mary Schina was born in Serres, Greece.

She is Assistant Professor at the Printmaking Department of the Athens School of Fine Arts.

Studies

She studied printmaking (1966-1971) and typography-graphic design (1971-1973)

at the Athens School of Fine Arts on a Greek Government scholarship, and lithography at the École National Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris (1976-1981) on a French Government scholarship.

She taught plastic arts at the Psychiko College in Athens (1981-1993).

Since 1993 she has been teaching in the Printmaking Department of the Athens School of Fine Arts.

She attended Advanced Printmaking at New York University, NY, as a visiting scholar on sabbatical (1996-1997), and Advanced Printmaking and Digital Prints at Columbia College  Chicago, Chicago (2004) as a visiting lecturer.

Mary Schina has participated in international seminars in Norway, France, Holland, and Lebanon.

Exhibitions

Her work has been shown in 27 solo exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus, India, Germany, France, and New York, Wisconsin and Quincy Illinois in USA, and in over 100 group shows and international biennials in Greece, Cyprus, Germany, France, Austria, Luxembourg, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Poland, Rumania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Lebanon, Egypt, China, Japan, and Istanbul.

Awards

2003   Dr Iwasaki Prize, 4th Kyoto International Woodprint Exhibition, Japan

2009   Award of the Rector of the Szczecin Academy of Applied Art, International Print Triennial Krakow 2009, Poland.

Her works can be found at Permanent Art Collections of Museums and Galleries, also

in many private collections in Greece, France, Germany, England, India, and the USA.
